Last May 17th marked the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT), a significant day dedicated to raising awareness about the discrimination and challenges faced by the 2SLGBTQ+ community worldwide. In solidarity with this cause, Moyo hosted a special event on May 17th from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, inviting people to come together in support of equality and acceptance. Our event theme this year was “Equality, Freedom, and Justice For All”.
This event serves as a platform to amplify voices, share stories, and foster understanding and empathy. It's a crucial opportunity to reflect on the progress made in 2SLGBTQ+ rights while acknowledging the work that still needs to be done to combat discrimination in all its forms.
Moyo's IDAHOBIT event was an enriching experience, featuring insightful discussions, speakers, music, and opportunities for meaningful connections. Whether a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community or an ally, all guests' presence and support were invaluable in creating a more inclusive and compassionate Peel region - we are grateful everyone who attended!
Together, we stand against homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia, and work towards a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Together, we can make a difference.
