To commemorate this year's International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers, Moyo HCS is calling on sex workers, community organizations that may be working with folks who participate in sex work, service providers and people who know and love sex workers to attend the first inaugural meeting of the Peel Sex Workers Alliance (PSWA) on January 19th, 2022, at 2:00PM.  In the last two years, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we have seen a troubling increase in gender-based violence, housing disparity, poverty, and fatal drug overdoses which have significantly impacted the way people are able to support themselves in the community. Based on the sex workers’ needs assessment from 2019 (KNOW MORE report) Moyo HCS has identified a strong list of recommendations that we want to put into action. Join us in creating an action plan to respond to the need of sex workers in Peel region. Come help us create a framework to respond to the needs of sex workers in the region of Peel from a sex positive, harm-reduction based lens. 💖
